NATIONAL GUARDIAN – CONCRETE SEALER I
Concrete Sealer I products moisture proof, harden and dustproof new and existing concrete and other cementitious materials. Concrete Sealer I reacts internally as a scientifically formulated aqueous penetrating preservative. Concrete Sealer I has the advantage of being a non-toxic, non-flammable, odorless water soluble clear liquid. Concrete Sealer I is easy to use on all forms of masonry, concrete, stucco, brick, cement block, adobe and limestone.
Concrete Sealer I becomes a permanent part of the material, not just a surface coating. The penetrating activity of Concrete Sealer I permeates deep into the cementitious material, solidifying within the pores and capillaries by chemical reaction thereby stopping leakage and dampness without changing the physical appearance of the structure. Concrete Sealer I helps provide stronger adhesion of paints and mastics. Concrete Sealer I resist stains and actually helps prolong the surface beauty of the concrete.
Concrete Sealer I is specially formulated for use where high moisture content or very porous materials present a problem. Prime examples for the use of Concrete Sealer I are: Office Buildings, Warehouse Buildings, Residential or other Commercial Structures, Water Control Projects, Grain Silos, Subway Tunnels, Sewage Treatment Facilities, Airports, Parking Garages, Docks/Piers and many more.
COMPOSITION AND MATERIAL
Concrete Sealer I is a chemically active treatment using chemicals with the unique ability to react with properties inherent in cementitious materials. Penetration properties are enhanced by the precise blending of surfactants and release agents.
Concrete Sealer I should be applied to surfaces free of paints, coatings or other foreign materials. Concrete Sealer I is effective on some highly porous surfaces but will not seal large visible cracks. Concrete Sealer I should be applied as directed and should not be mixed with any other material.
Dilutant: None. Use as supplied
Freeze Temp: 32°F
Freeze Harm: None
Coverage per U.S. gallon: 150-350 s.f.
Shelf Life: 24 months
AMERICAN SOCIETY of TESTING and MATERIALS
The following ASTM test were performed and Concrete Sealer I met or exceeded each requirement:
ASTM-C-67: Sampling and testing of brick and structural clay tiles;
ASTM-C-67-13: Water absorption;
ASTM-C-666: NaCl. Resistance of concrete to rapid freeze/thaw action.
Prior to applying Concrete Sealer I, the surface to be treated must be cleaned and free earn any foreign matter or surface coating (i.e., paint, dirt, oils, grease, efflorescence, etc.). This may be accomplished by means appropriate to the structure and the foreign matter. Allow surfaces to completely dry.
New surfaces and application need no prior preparation.
Concrete Sealer I may be applied indoors or outdoors, on or above grade. Concrete Sealer I should not be applied if temperatures are at or expected to be below freezing within 24 hours of application or if rain is expected within 24 hours. Materials to be treated must be dry prior to application. Contact the manufacturer or your distributor for use in high moisture conditions before use.
1. Shake Well Before Use.
2. Do not dilute or mix Concrete Sealer I with any other material. Use as supplied.
3. Apply product by brush, roller or low pressure spray, sufficient to saturate the surface and assure adequate penetration. Do not allow to puddle on horizontal surface; brush out with mop or broom.
4. Normal applications require a single application. Apply liberally and saturate all areas, Vertical surfaces should be applied from bottom to top allowing an approximate 6 inch run down before absorption. For new concrete, apply as soon as concrete has set or when forms are removed. (Recommended at least 10-14 days after pour).
5. In application where excessive moisture or seepage is present, additional applications may be necessary.
6. Concrete contaminated with grease, oil or mineral salts will have some of the material brought to the surface after application of Concrete Sealer I.
7. Normal penetration of Concrete Sealer I is 2-4 hours. Limited foot traffic is permissible after 30 minutes.
